Precision Polling Privacy Policy

Precision Polling is a self-service website for running phone surveys. Your privacy is very important to us. We are equally commited to protecting the privacy of those being surveyed.

This Privacy Policy is governed by our Terms of Service. By using Precision Polling, you are agreeing to the collection and use of your personal information; and the personal data of potential survey participants provided by you; and survey results; these policies are described below.

We may periodically make changes to this Privacy Policy that we will include on this page. It is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy frequently and remain informed about any changes to it.

Your Personal Information

When you create a Precision Polling user account, we collect account information including but not limited to your first name, last name, organization, email address, phone number, and mailing address. Our policy is:

  • We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.
  • You may delete your account at any time.
  • Other users may not see any of your data or personal information. In the future, we might introduce a groups/team functionality, where individuals can opt into sharing data, but this will be voluntary and opt-in only.
  • We will never look at or disclose your individual data unless you are having technical difficulties, it is required by law, or it is necessary to maintain our system.
  • We will not spam you. We may contact you about the following (you may opt-out of these):
    • Notifications about your account.
    • Survey status updates.
    • Announcements about Precision Polling features or news.

Payments Information

Precision Polling accepts payments using third-party payments processors. We do not collect or store any payments information, such as credit card numbers. Your use of these payments systems will be governed by separate terms between you and the processor.

We currently offer Amazon Payments, which gives you the same secure and trusted checkout experience available on Amazon.com today.

Protecting Poll Participants

Running a phone survey requires a phone list of potential people to call. To use our system, you upload a phone lists to our servers. Each entry in this list may include additional demographic information, or other such data which is necessary for analysis but which might be sensitive in nature.

We regard poll participant information in these lists as confidential. We will never display, sell, rent, or share any information in these phone lists with anyone besides you, unless required by law.

Survey Results

We will protect the confidentiality of our users' phone surveys. We will not disclose any of the following without explicit permission:

  • Survey content
  • Survey results
  • Details of who is being called (see above)
  • Parameters about how and when to run the survey

We may introduce a feature allowing you to opt to make your survey results public, hosted on our web site or elsewhere. Such public results will not include any personally identifying information about survey participants.

Aggregate Information

While we safeguard and regard as confidential all user, survey participant, and survey information, we do reserve the right to disclose information about our system in aggregate, such that we do not release any information that would specifically identify a person or survey content. For example, we could disclose information like "What is the average phone list size of a 500 question survey?" or "How many calls has our system made in the past week?"

Cookies and Log Files

The PrecisionPolling.com website sends a "cookie" to your computer that contains an identification number that is unique to the computer you are using. We use this cookie to provide you with a continuous experience, and for us to record how our site/service is being used.

As is done with most web sites, we log each visit to each web page. A log entry can contain information typically found in the "header" of your web browser's request such as the browser type you used, your Internet Protocol address, and the date and time of day. We may also log your cookie's identification number and the URL of the last site you visited. This log information is important for security, audit, quality improvement, as well as for monitoring the health of our service.
